The ACS ministry aims to meet both the physical and spiritual needs of the local communities. ACS centers currently function as food pantries and thrift stores, offering food, clothes, furniture, basic supplies, and Bible study materials to individuals and families in need. The Adventist Community Services Disaster Response (ACS DR) ministry stands ready to serve the survivors of disasters. With churches throughout the North American Division, ACS DR is able to assist survivors whose lives have been disrupted by disaster and other traumatic events. The primary role of Adventist Community Services Disaster Response (ACS DR) is Donations Management. Collection Centers, Multi-agency Warehouses, and Distribution Centers are the major components of Donations Management. ACS DR manages the unsolicited donations so they do not become the “second disaster.”
At the Waterford SDA Church, we train volunteers to receive, organize, store and distribute donated goods in a variety of settings.
Historically we have had several training sessions each year. However, due to COVID-19, all in-person sessions have been postponed. Stay tuned for alternative forms of training.
